• when not in school I like to go hiking with my 2 black labradors  Chance (10) and Sophie (7)

my family has always been a big supporter of the military. My Grandfather was in the army in the 1950s and it enabled him to be able to go to college and then law school.  He was raised in an orphanage so he never forgot the opportunity the armed services provided him .My uncle Jon,  worked with vets  in their recovery including helping to design the robotics for the prosthetic limbs needed for wounded warriors. Neither of them are with us anymore but I want to continue honoring their legacies.

one night I watched an interview with a soldier who returned home from Afghanistan. his service dog was diagnosed with cancer.  They both loved the ocean but he didnt have the physical nor financial means to take his best friend for one last trip. It bothered me that this was even a challenge to do things I do every week with my own dogs.
